The term "yo" actually refers to a traditional Korean floor bed. While most people sleep in Western style beds these days, yos remain popular particularly in winter when one wants to be as close in proximity to their heated floors as possible.
I got to sleep on a yo during one of my overnight English camps. I found there to be a disconcerting differential in temperature between the floor facing part of my body, which was scalding, and the ceiling facing part, which was nearly collecting frost due to my Korean roommate's wish to sleep with the windows open. Not exactly my cup of tea, but others might find this sleeping arrangement quite therapeutic!
